Eternal Hope: Members of this race gain a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against fear and despair effects. Also, once per day, after a natural roll of 1 on a d20 roll, members of this race may reroll and use the second result.
Exalted Resistance: Members of this race gain spell resistance equal to 6 + their character level against spells and spell-like abilities with the evil descriptor, as well as any spells and spell- like abilities cast by evil outsiders.
Halo: Members of this race can create light centered on their head at will as a spell-like ability. When using the halo, a member of this race gains a +2 circumstance bonus on Intimidate checks
against evil creatures and on saving throws against becoming blinded or dazzled.
Craftsman: +2 racial bonus on all Craft or Profession checks to create objects from metal or stone.
Gregarious: When members of this race successfully use Diplomacy to win over an individual, that creature takes a –2 penalty on attempts to resist any of the member’s Charisma-based skills for the next 24 hours.
Sociable: When members of this race attempt to change a creature’s attitude with a Diplomacy check and fail by 5 or more, they can try to influence the creature a second time even if 24 hours have not passed.
Summary: Craftsmen and believers in all things beautiful, Altrua practice the path of internal perfection through expression and creation. There is works of a creator is considered to be a reflection of the quality of their spirit and no duty is more sacred than their work and responsibilities. Often these pursuits will make some Altrua detached from the world as they enter a fugue like reverie in their endeavors. The culmination of all these efforts is to create a perfectly ordered society in which exists to exemplify and celebrate beauty in all it’s forms.
Organization and order are at the heart of Altrua society, each individual has a role they were born to and they will ascend by the quality of their craft. This means that many Altrua habitats are paradises placed perfectly within virtually any environment. Their vigor draws from an otherworldly source and as they age a Altrua will often become detached from society, ruminating on the life beyond the material and what their work will have meant.
Physical Description: Usually between 5-6’5 tall Altrua have skin tones varying from a rust brown, to a pale white hue the is almost greenish in hue with similarly varied hair.
Society: Altruans adhere to a strict caste system, they strongly believe that they are born into a part of the Alruan whole and through their toil they will reach enlightment. This only through exemplary achievement or catastrophic failure of another will cause major changes in the social order. The domains under Alruan rule are filled with pastoral landscapes and their cities are marvels of craft seeking to seamlessly blend the land with with both magic and engineering.
Relations: Altruans are welcoming of all people into their lands, though most find their rigid legal structure stifling after long. They treat their neighbors honest and fairly and most welcome an Altruan’s presence as whatever task they set themselves to they take wholeheartedly. Many of their settlements become trading hubs because of both their reputations for fair dealings and impeccable management along with fine quality of local wares. Altrua always attempt to better their relations with other races though often find themselves at odds with the unpredictable, cruel, or duplicitous nations.
Alignment and Religion: Their sense of duty and loyalty drives the core values of all Altrua. Their love of beauty and creation leads them generally to altruistic pursuits and they are rarely covetous. Occasionally an individual may yearn to break free of the rigid order of the larger collective or be turned from a path of comparisons by jealousy or pride. The vast majority of Altrua are Lawful Good or Lawful Neutral with few exceptions. They often seek inner peace and perfection worshiping a four faced god of the seasons or the an unknown creator that they feel crafted them.
Adventurers: Altrua seek to spread their beliefs and share beauty with the world around them. Their disciplined nature makes them a natural fit to become Monks and Paladins. Cavaliers are not uncommon as well to protect their domains. Arcane studies are of a growing interest and spellcasters can be found in small numbers usually tending to stores of knowledge. They believe there is beauty in every part of the world, and the dark places without simply need the light brought to them.
